This series of paper cut art uses the outline of each state - a mostly arbitrary shape created by humans - to hold animals native to this particular area of the United States. These animals are the true inhabitants and should remind us that most of us are only relatively recent arrivals. Hopefully these will serve as inspiration to protect our environment, so these animals can remain for future generations to enjoy.
